Well, hello there, friend!
So lovely to have you visiting our new site!
We are super excited to share our imagination and stories with you and your little one. We hope that we’ll become trusted friends at storytime.
The Fuzz-Fuzz was a story I dreamed up a while ago, but one way and another, life got busy, and I forgot about it.
Then, of course, COVID-19 hit the world, and everything normal went out the window.
Being at home, and not needing to rush to meet deadlines and friends, or having family commitments, and finding time to take stock of life gave me time to sit… think… reevaluate. And somewhere in the middle of all the sitting and thinking and reviewing, the story pushed its way to the front of my mind and demanded I give it some attention finally!
So I followed it up, and well, here we are, with merchandise and everything!
The Fuzz-Fuzz is a rhythmic, rhyming story filled with repetition, made-up words and whimsical, charming characters who hunt to find the elusive Fuzz-Fuzz.
Repetition in stories is significant for children’s development – and they love it! Reading to your small person is such an essential part of healthy child development. The importance of fostering a love of reading and literature early in their lives cannot be underestimated. Reading stimulates your child’s imagination and curiosity. It helps familiarize their words and sounds, and helps them develop the all-important skills of concentration, focus, communication, and social interaction.
And, of course, it’s time spent together, and that is beyond value.
The Fuzz-Fuzz is perfect for all of this.
The plan for my books to have matching pajamas is something that’s been in my head for ages too.
Bedtime Stories™ is the brand under which all the book’s coordinating pajamas are being sold. (This book and the next - coming in 2022. But more about that later!)
For now, I want to tell you about the care taken in every part of the design, sourcing, and manufacturing process. All our products are, as far as possible, made in South Africa. That includes all the fabrics, notions, printing, production, etcetera. Because, local is lekker, you know!
The fabrics used are all 100% cotton, and they are ethically and sustainably manufactured. You can rest easy, in the knowledge that your tiny tot is getting the best in which they can rest easy.
The pajamas are sold as separates for ease of sizing and the perfect fit. Little people’s sizing can be tricky that way.
And we couldn’t forget playtime!
The easy-to-learn picture pairs matching memory game is a classic that children love. And all ours gets two-thumbs up too! Our memory game features the whimsical, colourful characters from the book. It’s small and compact and perfect for at-home or on-the-go play.
So that’s what we have for you now - all the warm fuzzies!
